Wish Bridge

Nagasaki Japan, 2017
Performance

On 24th of November 2017 we celebrated the opening of the new Omote-mon-bashi. From 1641 to 1859 the island Deshima was used by the Dutch as a tradingpost. The Omote-mon-bashi was the only bridge that connected Deshima with the mainland of Japan with the western world.

Related to the opening ceremony of the bridge, we were asked by the Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum to organise a performance, which resulted in ‘Wish Bridge’, an installation of bamboo, air and wishes for the future.

A new generation of Japanese kids and their family were invited to be part of this installation.
